How to Print From an iPhone

How to Print From an iPhone

If you have a printer that’s Wi-Fi-enabled, you can print from your iPhone. Apple’s AirPrint technology makes this possible, and it’s a fast and easy way to print documents and photos from your iPhone.

To print from an iPhone, open the content you want to print — an email, a Web page or an image. Tap the “Share” button to access the iOS Share Sheet and select Print from the pop-up menu.

Wi-Fi

Apple’s iOS devices, including the iPhone, have a built-in printing feature called AirPrint. This enables you to print documents, photos and even text messages wirelessly without the need for installing additional printer drivers.

This is a very useful feature that can come in handy in some situations. For instance, you might want to print a document while on the go or maybe you’re in a situation where a Wi-Fi connection is not available.

If you want to print from your iPhone with Wi-Fi, there are a few things that you need to know before you can proceed. First, make sure that your iPhone and the printer are both connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Next, open an app that supports printing. This could be Mail, Safari, Notes or Photos and choose the item that you’re going to print.

Once you’ve selected the item, tap the sharing icon that looks like a square with an arrow on it. The sharing icon will also indicate the print option in the bottom row, which you should scroll down and click on.

Your iPhone will then scan for a local AirPrint-enabled printer, and you’ll be able to print your file directly from the app. The first time that you do this, it may take a few seconds for the app to search for a printer.

Bluetooth

If you want to print from an iPhone without a Wi-Fi connection, you can do so with the help of Bluetooth. It is a very useful feature and will allow you to print photos or documents directly from your phone.

First, you need to open a document or image that you want to print. It could be a webpage, a picture from the camera, a text message or anything else.

Once you have opened the document or photo, tap on the Share button. It will look like an arrow or square with three periods (…) depending on the app you’re using.

Then, select the number of copies you need and if they’re in black and white or color. You can also choose the paper size and other options.

After that, you’ll be taken to the printer menu. You can then choose your printer and settings.

Once you’ve done that, the document or image will be sent to your Bluetooth-connected printer. The process is pretty simple and can be completed within minutes. However, you may need to wait a bit for the document to finish printing before you can use it.

USB

If you’re looking to print from an iPhone, there are several options available. One of the simplest is to use Apple’s Wi-Fi printing technology, called AirPrint.

You can also connect to a printer using USB, either directly or via a USB adapter that plugs into your printer and your iPhone’s lightning port. You can also set up a print server on your Mac or PC, allowing you to send files from the iPhone to your printer when it’s connected to that computer over Wi-Fi.

To use this option, simply open the item you want to print — it could be a webpage, image, email, or something from your Notes app, for example. Once you’ve opened the item, tap a Share button. This could look like a left-facing arrow or a square with an arrow pointing up, or three periods (…) depending on the app you’re using.

After that, swipe down from the top row of options and select Print. This will show a pop-up menu with all the different options.

From there, you’ll need to decide which printer you’d like to use and adjust any settings in the document or file. Once you’ve done this, your document or file will be sent to your printer and ready to print.
